Fall
(7200-1), 1997
Video projection, sound installation.
Fall consists of a video projection and a laptop computer. The
screen of the laptop generates a zero every second and the projection
is of a mountain lake. The laptop is running a random program
which, if triggered, sets in play an image of a huge crash on
the surface of the lake. 7200-1 – (the numbers in the
title) refer to the odds of this triggered sequence occurring
at every second, this means that on average the crash sequence
will occur once every two hours, but, as the sequence is random
there is absolutely no way of tell when it may next happen. |
